Furthermore, with robots and artificial intelligence poised to take over the human workforce, employees are under increased pressure to perform at their best and stay ahead of the competition. However, some people hold the opposite viewpoint, believing that people should set out time for their personal lives. This is primarily because it aids in the improvement of an employee's health. Google, for example, saw increased productivity and lower absenteeism after tailoring their work schedule to reduce employee stress and allow them to spend more time with their families. Furthermore, a healthy work-life balance can help people feel more in control of their careers, which can lead to higher productivity, a happier marriage, and better health. Based on the discussion thus far, one can infer that working extra hours is important in order to keep their job, yet striking a work-life balance should not be disregarded.
