Some people think that secondary school children should study international news as one of the school subjects. Other people think that it is a waste of valuable school time. What do you think?

The ability and potential of the worldwide media to influence and educate today's kids is tremendous. While some believe that the global media and international news, as components of education, have no significant impact on secondary education, others think that those students should study worldwide news in order to profit from it. This essay makes an effort to investigate the subject thoroughly. I think it's crucial that international news be covered in secondary education. On the one hand, international media broadens young people's perspectives and their comprehension of current events. It's because studying international issues as a subject in school helps young people from around the world communicate on common platforms and increases their awareness and expertise. For instance, a study conducted by Oxford sociologists revealed that the media has a significant impact on teens' understanding of current events, which has a very beneficial effect on increasing their global awareness. They become more aware of the world and are inspired to exchange thoughts as a result. Contrarily, many detractors contend that if teens are exposed to the worst aspects of world events like wars and civil turmoil through the global media, it will have a bad impact on their schooling. This is due to the fact that youth who are exposed to violence are frequently depressed and may develop apathy for our history and international politics. For instance, recent studies have found that depressed teenagers frequently attribute their despair to the hopeless situation of the world. It is debatable if studying worldwide news would be beneficial for young kids because mental health is a crucial secondary education goal. It is evident that there are arguments both in favor of and against teaching news in secondary schools. By implementing appropriate policies and instructional strategies, educators and authorities can increase its use and capitalize on the advantages of including the study of international news in the academic training of young children.
