PTE Listening Part 4- Sample 10: Highlight Correct Summary

Contrary to as believed by the people, beauty of a building is not in something which is superficially applied but is itself a basic part of the architecture. More information on this part was provided by Vasari in ‘Lives of the Most Excellent Painters, Sculptors, and Architects’ which has been translated into several languages over time. An English Art Critic, John Ruskin, further stated that architecture should be of a kind that its sight contributes to the pleasure and mental health of the viewer. Signifying the aesthetic view of a building, he also said that a building is incomplete until it is adorned in some way. Supporting Ruskin, a popular architect Le Corbusier also stated that it is the beauty of a building that can turn a simple construction into an architecture.
